Smart Pack: AI-Integrated Cloud Platform for Packaging Optimization — uses AI-driven design and logistics analytics to streamline sustainable packaging production and delivery.
As an AI Business Consultant, I played a key role in developing the Stora Enso Integrated Dashboard, a cloud-based platform designed to streamline packaging design and delivery processes. The initiative aimed to improve efficiency, sustainability and logistics performance through advanced AI capabilities.
The solution combined AI-prompted generative design, 3D scanning and AI-driven logistics analytics to optimise packaging dimensions, material use and delivery routes. My responsibilities included analysing existing design and supply-chain workflows, defining data and system integration requirements and ensuring that the AI strategy aligned with Stora Enso’s sustainability goals and production constraints.
The platform concept enabled smarter design iterations, reduced material waste and improved transparency across the supply chain. Early analysis showed that AI-supported dimension optimisation could reduce packaging material usage by 8–12%, contributing to both cost savings and emissions reduction. A concept prototype was created to demonstrate how design intelligence, logistics insights and sustainability metrics could be delivered in a unified cloud interface.
The result was a scalable, data-informed platform supporting more efficient packaging production, improved decision-making and measurable sustainability outcomes.
